[k-9-mail] new messages in subfolders do not trigger notifications

Hi,

I have a problem that subfolders (although I classified them as 1st class -
i.e. they are synched just like the inbox), do not notify the arrival of
new messages. If I go to the folder view, I do see that there are unread
messages there, but since I don't use the folder view often, I will miss a
lot of new messages. Under Settings -> Notifications I have checked the
"New mail notification" but nothing. Mails arriving in the inbox are
notified, but mails arriving in the subfolders (although synched) are not
notified. Am I missing something?

A separate question: is it possible to define a custom combined inbox,
i.e., I want 3 subfolders plus my inbox to be a custom combined inbox. Is
this possible?

P.S.: I should have maybe also said that I am using IMAP (not sure if
that's important)

Found it. For anyone else having the same problem: Go to the "Global
Settings" (not account specific settings), then "General" and untick "Inbox
only"(odd that this is ticked by default). Now it works.
