Hello,

I would like to copy my K-9 settings in order
to set up K-9 on another phone. When I go to
settings Import & Export -> Export setting and account
I get the error message:
Unfortunately, K-9 has stopped.

I am using K-9 Verison 5.600 on a Redmi Note 2
with Android 5.0.2 LRX22G and MIUI 7.0.

This is the first problem I have ever had with K-9.
Anybody ever had this problem?
Is there any other way to get the settings from
the phone?

Thanks John

Try this first:

Go to Settings - apps - K9

Tap 'Force Stop'

Tap 'Storage' if on your android version.

Tap 'Clear cache'

Warning: do not tap 'Clear Data', this will delete the info you want to
save.

Go back to your home screen

Open K9 like you usually do and try the export function again.

If the export still crashes, you will need to copy the info with pen and
paper, or copy/paste into the memo/notes app.

Needed info for entry into another device:

Full email address:
Full server name:
Mail type (IMAP/POP):
Server security type(SSL-TLS or Starttls)
Server port number:
Email server login info (username/password)

Please note the following:

There are default server port numbers used, you may not need to change what
appears but it might be different what you need, change if needed.

Server login can cause difficulty, some email providers use your full email
address ie (***@server.com) or possibly just the first part ie (you) in the
example.

Server names also need particular attention, many servers use a prefix for
server names for connection type, IMAP might be imap.server.com, sending
mail might be smtp.server.com, POP might be pop3.server.com, or even just
pop.server.com.

Your provider may or not use this, if you currently do, please keep using
it.

Hello Cecil,

thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately K-9 still stops,
so I've put in a bug reprot at Git.

Thanks again!
