Menus in phone vs tablet

I use K9 on both my phone and my tablet. However the menus are in different places. In my phone they are on the bottom. In my tablet they are on top.

Is there a way to set this so they are the same on both? It is very annoying going back and forth and reaching for the delete key, for example, but it is in the wrong place!

I just installed K9 on a tablet and immediately googled for a way to move
the menu to the bottom and found this message. This inconsistency in the UI
is very strange. Now either the phone or the tablet look wrong.

I poked around in the settings and found nothing. Did you get some answer
somewhere else?
