I have K-9 Mail 4.409. I want to export all the settings to another phone
which I have done before, but I can't find the import export menu option.
Has it been moved or is it no longer available in this version?
Thanks

Are we in the same place? I'm talking about the screen that has "Accounts" as the title. (I normally start K9 in the Unified Mailbox; if I then go back one level, using the arrow at the top left of the screen, it takes me to the Accounts screen).

Pressing the menu button in that screen gives me 4 options:
Add an account
About
Settings import and export
Settings

Methinks that K9 badly needs some better documentation!

That's a cheap shot, in a way. As an end user, I don't know enough about K9 to document it, and I've only found out how to drive the new user interface through trial and error.

I know that developers hate writing documentation, but there's not a lot of sense in spending ages coding really cool features if you're not going to tell people that they exist and how to use them.

Some bare bones documentation would really improve the user experience (especially as I understand that the menus and buttons can vary depending on what device you are using) - then people like me would be able to make the documentation more user friendly, if required.

It seems whenever I get links like below, in K9, I don't seem able to click on it, yet, in Google client, I can.
Is that something in my configuration?

Wow - that looks REALLY good!

Many thanks for all your efforts. With great developers producing the code, and now great documentation to accompany it, I think that K-9 has a very strong future.

Thanks!

It wouldn't take a lot work work to do the same thing that Civicrm
community do -and I'd be up for helping too.
They have a manual on FLOSS Manuals, do a documentation sprint every
year to update / improve it and then migrate it to their community site -
ie from here - http://en.flossmanuals.net/civicrm/
to here - http://book.civicrm.org/user/

I'm looking to help the phplist community to do this soon and work out a
good workflow to do this for drupal / wordpress sites.

nice one

To import old emails from your old cell phone, this worked for me
transferring from a Samsung S3 to a Note 4 on the AT&T network:

First exit out of the K-9 Mail program on your old and new cell phones.
Connect the old cell phone to your computer, double click on your cell
model in My Computer and open the folders Phone/Android/com.fsck.k9 and
copy the "files" folder to your desktop. Safely disconnect the old cell
phone and connect your new cell phone. On the folder you saved to your
desktop open the folders: Phone/Android/com.fsck.k9/files and do the same
with the connected new cell phone, copy from the old cell folder and
replace on the new cell phone these 2 files and folder:

Folder and contents .db_att

Data Base file .db

DB-JOUNAL file .db-journal

*The name of the 2 files and folder will be the same but with a different
extension, the file name might be different for each user.

You do not need to copy over the .nomedia file.

Now open K-9 Mail on the new phone and you will see your old emails.

Thanks Philip - I've got it now. The accounts screen was something that I
used to see regularly until the last K9 update since when I thought that it
had disappeared. Finding it is not so easy. I had to tap the K9 logo at the
top of the screen to bring it up.
Anyway all sorted now thanks again for your help.

You must going to account screen as Peter said.
If you only have single account at current (first install), the account
setting screen not show up.
Look the top of screen, on K-9 logo there is mark > which you can
touch/tab to go to account screen.
