[k-9-mail] Threaded view doesn't gather messages from different folders

I have version 5.403 installed on my Redmi 4A. So, the subject says it all:
messages from different folders of the same account are not joined into a
single thread. Is this the desired behavior for the most of users? Or is it
already fixed in development version? I've kinda surprised that there was
no such a topic about this (or I haven't managed to find one).

As far as I'm aware, this is intended behavior. The threaded sort option is really just that: a sorting option. In my email workflow, I keep whole email threads in the same folder, so this behavior works fine for me.

There seems to be an open request for this feature for several years:

No apparent motion on implementing it, though.
