[k-9-mail] Can't retrieve old messages on K-@ mail free

I'm using K-@ mail free version and even emails as recent as 2 months won't load up.

The app gives me the option of loading "up to 25, or 250, etc" previous emails but loads none.

I don't find anything in Global settings or the server settings in my 2 accounts.

I do have a pretty full trash folder.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Go to the setting right below the number of emails to retrieve and select "all" and you are done!

Thanks for your quick response.

My Gmail account gives me that option. Specifically, to not limit according to time, date, etc.

My Comcast email doesn't have that in settings. Only can limit according to size of message. I've set that to no limit, but no old messages are loading like they did in Gmail.

I'm afraid that's right.

Comcast is pop3 for incoming mail server.

When i look to change it to IMAP, pop3 server is pre-selected (greyed). What do I need to do? Set up a new account name?

I can now configure k-@ mail to assign my Comcast account as an imap server, but it won't retrieve those old emails. They are likely lost.

If they're not on the server at Comcast, K9 has nothing to retrieve.

Why haven't these messages been saved in k-@ mail? They were only 2-3 months old.

As soon as you changed the filter settings in K-9 they should appear with the next sync, unless you deleted them on the server.

This might be, if you used pop3 and had set delete messages from server after download.

You can check if they are still there by using an online web interface.

If you see them there, K-9 will download them as soon as you have set the correct filter settings in K-9.

In K-9 you cannot change from pop3 to IMAP or vice versa once you created an account.

You have to created a new account within K-9 if you want to switch.

You don't have to set it in Comcast, but in your K-9 Filter settings!
